ninja-tch uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to establish a direct connection between two phones. One device acts as a BLE central and the other as a peripheral — this is negotiated automatically. Once connected, you can exchange short text messages in real-time without any internet connection.
No! ninja-tch works entirely offline. All communication happens over Bluetooth Low Energy between two nearby devices. No Wi-Fi, cellular data, or servers are involved.
BLE typically works within 10-30 meters (30-100 feet), depending on the environment and device capabilities. Walls and obstacles may reduce the effective range.
No manual pairing is needed. ninja-tch handles device discovery and connection automatically. Just open the app on both phones and they will find each other.
ninja-tch is built with React Native and Expo, supporting both iOS and Android devices with BLE capabilities. Native modules are used for optimal Bluetooth performance on each platform.
No. Messages are transmitted directly between devices over BLE and are not stored on any server or cloud service. Messages exist only during the active session.
Bluetooth permissions are required to scan for nearby devices and establish BLE connections. These permissions are used solely for messaging functionality — no location tracking or data collection is involved.
