Hebra v1.0

Getting Started

How do I pair two devices?

Install Hebra on both devices. On the Follower device (iPad), a 6-digit code is generated automatically. On the Leader device (iPhone), enter that code. Tap "Lock & Activate" on both — they're now paired.

Which device should be the Leader and which the Follower?

The Leader is the device that makes calls — typically your iPhone. The Follower is the device that receives calls — typically the iPad placed at a parent's home.

Do both devices need to be on the same Wi-Fi?

No. Hebra works over any internet connection — Wi-Fi, cellular, or a mix. The devices can be anywhere in the world.

Calling

The Follower doesn't ring when I call

Make sure both devices are connected to the internet and show "Connected" status. On the Follower iPad, check that Hebra has permission for Notifications in Settings → Hebra. Also ensure the iPad isn't in Do Not Disturb mode.

I can hear audio but see no video

Check that both devices have granted Camera permission to Hebra in Settings → Hebra → Camera. If the Follower is on a slow connection, video may take a few seconds to appear.

Can I call the Leader from the Follower?

Currently, only the Leader can initiate calls. The Follower device is designed to be a passive receiver — optimized for a senior parent who just needs to accept or ignore incoming calls.

Troubleshooting

How do I reset and re-pair?

On either device, tap the gear icon (⚙) in the top-right corner, then use the Reset option to unlock the device. You can then set up a new pairing code.

Calls disconnect frequently

This is usually a network issue. Try moving closer to a Wi-Fi router. In the Leader's diagnostics (long-press the version label), check the "Force Relay" toggle — enabling it can help on restrictive networks.
